In 1930, a small general store was opened in Beaconsfield, Iowa. That store grew to become Hy-Vee — a Midwest supermarket chain known for its excellent customer service and reasonable prices. As an employee-owned company, we encourage each of our more than 82,000 employees in 240 stores across eight states to help guide Hy-Vee’s future.

Today, Hy-Vee continues to be synonymous with quality, variety, value and superior customer service. Our slogan, “A Helpful Smile in Every Aisle,” expresses the foundation of our company’s operating philosophy and brand promise to customers.”
