Overview:

Neighboring the MIT campus and steps away from the Red Line in Kendall Square, Cambridge Innovation Center is the largest flexible office facility for growing companies. CIC provides more than 500 small companies with award-winning facilities and state-of-the-art business and technical services.

CIC is a leader in work place design having won several awards in this area. We have re- envisioned the concept of “work place” seeking to create a fun, enjoyable campus-like environment that provides many opportunities to meet and mix with other innovators.

CIC offers our clients a range of environments from large, shared co-working areas to private, secured offices, all with access to extensive shared amenities, including fully stocked kitchens, conference rooms, copies and printers, shower rooms, massage therapy, bike-share program, etc. Our goal is to let our clients focus on their innovations while we take care of everything else.

CIC seeks to provide a warm, friendly environment where everything “just works” all the time. This requires a staff with good interpersonal skills and a high level of organization and attention to detail. In this way, CIC resembles a high-end hotel. Unlike a hotel, however, the companies at CIC usually stay with us for years, and our staff and clients develop relationships that transcend the service industry norm. The feel here is that of a “close-knit neighborhood”, where CIC staff are community leaders.

CIC has attracted some of the best-known startups in the Boston area including half of the Google team that built the Android smart-phone operating system, and Design that Matters, which was awarded Time Magazine’s Best Invention of 2012. CIC alumni company GreatPointEnergy, a coal gasification company, recently raised the largest round of venture capital ever raised by a US company from Chinese investors. Since
