Billings Clinic is Montana’s largest health care system serving Montana, Wyoming and the western Dakotas. A not-for-profit organization led by a physician CEO, Billings Clinic is governed by a board of community members, nurses and physicians. Billings Clinic is an integrated multi-specialty group practice with a 304-bed hospital and Level II trauma center. Billings Clinic has more than 4,700 employees, including more than 550 physicians and non-physician providers physicians and advanced practitioners offering more than 80 specialties.

The electronic medical record helps both primary care physicians and specialists know the patients’ entire health history, the drugs that have been prescribed, and test results. This improves the overall quality, safety and cost of care.

Billings Clinic has 14 regional partnerships, including management agreements with 13 Critical Access Hospitals and one outpatient clinic. In addition, we conduct approximately 110 specialty care clinics per month at 21 different regional locations for residents of rural Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota. We were designated as the first Magnet organization in Montana in 2006, and are a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network. Affiliated hospitals are located throughout Montana and Wyoming.
Physician leadership is embedded in the organization with a physician CEO and through its internal and community governing boards that have physician members. Billings Clinic is consistently recognized nationally for excellent performance in patient quality, safety, and service.
Billings Clinic launched Montana’s first Internal Medicine Residency program in 2014, a testament to its mission of advancing health care, education, and research. Last year, Billings Clinic’s cost of Community Benefit totaled more than $38 million, including $9.9 million in financial assistance provided to nearly 11,000 patients.
Billings Clinic was the first Montana Magnet® -designated health care organization for nursing excellence and is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
