Job Description
Stellar Senior Living is a premier assisted living and memory care provider operating predominantly in the Western United States. Since its founding in 2012, the company has consistently expanded by adding new senior living communities each year, evolving into one of the notable names in the senior care industry. Stellar Senior Living is committed to delivering exceptional quality of life for its residents, with a dedicated focus on creating warm, safe, and supportive environments that allow seniors to thrive physically, emotionally, and socially. Their facilities emphasize personalized care plans, community engagement, and high-quality dining experiences, all reflecting their core mission to provide a stellar life for residents, their families, and employees alike. The leadership team, led by CEO Evrett Benton, prioritizes a company culture steeped in respect, innovation, and continual professional growth, creating an environment where teamwork, dedication, and passion for senior care are highly valued.
The Sous Chef role at Stellar Senior Living’s large senior living community located in Broadway Proper provides an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals eager to contribute creatively to a vital aspect of residents’ daily lives — their meals. This position operates as the second in command in the community’s kitchen, directly supporting the Executive Chef by executing kitchen operations according to established guidelines and standards. The successful candidate will play an instrumental role in meal planning and preparation, focusing on creativity and seasonality to craft menus that satisfy both nutritional requirements and residents’ tastes. With a clear emphasis on teamwork, leadership, and efficiency, the Sous Chef oversees junior kitchen staff and ensures that all kitchen activities are performed with impeccable timing and compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
This role offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as generous paid time off, holidays, 401k plan, tuition reimbursement, company-sponsored training, and flexible scheduling options. Such an environment supports not only professional development but also work-life balance, catering well to both full-time and part-time employees, including students looking for flexible employment. An added benefit includes free meals each shift and rapid access to earned wages via an on-demand pay system.
As a Sous Chef at Stellar Senior Living, you will have the chance to engage in meaningful culinary work that impacts the quality of life for older adults in the community. You will be responsible for innovating menu options based on seasonal availability and customer needs, managing kitchen inventory and supplies, supporting and mentoring kitchen personnel, overseeing staff scheduling and performance evaluations, and strictly adhering to food safety standards. The role demands a creative yet organized professional who thrives in a community-focused setting and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of service in a senior living culinary environment. Joining Stellar Senior Living means becoming part of a team that values your expertise, supports your growth, and recognizes the importance of your role in enriching the lives of senior residents through exceptional dining experiences.
