Job Description
ResCare Community Living, a part of the Sevita family, is an established organization dedicated to providing quality services that empower individuals and enhance their independence. Founded in 1974, the company has a rich history of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to lead more independent lives both at home and within their communities. ResCare Community Living focuses on person-centered services that help individuals build essential skills, overcome various challenges, and achieve their full potential. With a dedicated and experienced team, the organization continuously strives to improve the lives of those they serve through compassionate, personalized support.
Sevita, as the parent organization, is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care that believes everyone deserves to live a full and independent life. With over 50 years of mission-driven service, Sevita employs approximately 40,000 team members who support around 50,000 individuals across the United States. The company remains committed to innovation and enhancing care quality, championing the rights and dignity of people facing physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges.
The role of Program Director, IDD Services, at ResCare Community Living, represents a crucial leadership position essential to the success of delivering social and human services. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of one to four community programs, ensuring that direct supports and person-centered services are effectively organized, planned, and implemented. The Program Director is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, managing health care provisions, advocating for the individuals served, and nurturing stakeholder relationships. This position requires the management of staffing functions including recruiting, retention, orientation, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Additionally, the Program Director makes key recommendations and decisions regarding employee hires, promotions, salary adjustments, corrective actions, and terminations. Financial management of the programs, safety oversight, and maintenance of the physical environment are also critical responsibilities. The position demands strong leadership and organizational skills combined with the ability to be available on-call to support staff and ensure continuous program coverage.
This role offers a dynamic and rewarding career opportunity for individuals passionate about social services, human services, and community living support. Full-time, part-time, and as-needed schedules are available, with a comprehensive compensation and benefits package for full-time employees. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, holiday pay, and opportunities for nationwide career development and advancement within a supportive team environment. Joining ResCare Community Living means contributing to a mission-driven organization that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and offers job security alongside fulfilling work that genuinely impacts lives. This is an ideal position for candidates seeking to grow in leadership roles within the Human Services industry, providing meaningful support to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
