The role of Executive Chef 2 at the University of The Incarnate Word is a vital leadership position within Sodexo’s campus services. This medium-sized account requires a creative, detail-oriented, highly motivated, energetic, and well-organized culinary professional who can provide strong culinary leadership and manage multiple aspects of food service operations. The Executive Chef 2 is responsible for overseeing all culinary functions including menu planning, ensuring compliance with brand standards, and executing dining programs that meet both Sodexo's and the university's high expectations. This involves direct management and training of culinary staff, fostering a motivated team environment, and maintaining quality through consistent food preparation and production standards.
Further responsibilities include financial management tasks such as managing food costs, inventory control, and labor scheduling to ensure efficient operations. The Executive Chef 2 will also coordinate culinary operations across various service areas including catering, retail dining, and concessions. - Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 2 years management experience
- minimum 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, or mall food courts

- Implements and coordinates the culinary function
- directs, trains, develops and mentors cooks and other culinary support, stock worker and receiver, and utility workers

- ensures customer and client satisfaction
- financial management including food costs, inventory, and labor
- manages food and physical safety programs for resident dining operations
- works with maintenance department to help keep all equipment running well
