The Sous Chef role at HARRIS RESTAURANT is a full-time, on-site position based in San Francisco, CA. In this pivotal role, the Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef by overseeing daily kitchen operations such as food preparation, cooking, plating, and quality control. The Sous Chef plays a critical leadership role by training and guiding the kitchen staff and assigning tasks during service to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen workflow. Adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards is paramount to maintain the restaurant's high standards.

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to lead, coach, and support a diverse kitchen team in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid time-management skills and ability to prioritize during busy service periods
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach with kitchen and front-of-house teams
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Culinary school training or formal culinary education preferred but not required
