As part of the Catalyst MXE global network—a leader in live event solutions, marketing strategy, and experiential creativity—SPOON Events benefits from world-class resources, advanced technology, and industry best practices that amplify the quality and success of every event.
The Corporate Event Planner position at SPOON Events is a full-time, pivotal role based in Rochester, NY, offering a competitive salary range between $60,000 and $65,000 annually. This role offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional responsible for managing all facets of corporate event planning. This includes end-to-end logistics management, vendor coordination, budget oversight, timeline adherence, and quality control. The Corporate Event Planner operates as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring that event objectives and expectations are met with precision.
This role demands a high level of organization, multitasking ability, and a proactive mindset to anticipate and meet the diverse needs of clients and the operational challenges of live events. The planner is involved in the entire lifecycle of an event—from initial concept creation through to detailed project planning, vendor negotiation, execution, and post-event analysis and reporting. Responsibilities include securing and managing venues, coordinating catering services, overseeing décor and audiovisual setups, arranging transportation, and managing staffing requirements. As the central point of contact, the Corporate Event Planner ensures consistent communication flows seamlessly across all involved parties, fostering cooperation that leads to flawless event delivery.
Working within a collaborative environment, the Corporate Event Planner at SPOON Events balances independent work with teamwork, often navigating high-pressure situations to troubleshoot and resolve unexpected challenges that arise during events. Flexibility in schedule is required, including willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to event locations and availability for evening or weekend commitments when necessary.
The company seeks candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Planning, or related fields, coupled with at least two years of experience in event planning, hospitality, customer service, or a related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate strong client-facing communication skills, relationship management capabilities, and a proven track record of juggling multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is essential, along with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. The Corporate Event Planner role at SPOON Events is an excellent opportunity for motivated professionals passionate about delivering high-impact events within a supportive, innovative, and resource-rich company environment.
