As a remarkable entity with a unique mission, ALSAC celebrates diversity and values every individual's unique perspectives, fostering an environment where employees can grow personally and professionally. This commitment to making a difference extends beyond just offering a job - it invites individuals to join a purposeful community with a shared mission: Finding cures. Saving children.

The role of Advisor - Events Planner at ALSAC is a vital position designed for individuals who are passionate about orchestrating impactful events that align with the organization’s mission. This role focuses on bringing to life the visions of partners and stakeholders through meticulously planned and executed signature events such as galas, golf tournaments, and dinners. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement based in Houston, Texas, with a competitive salary range from USD 43,200 to 72,000 annually.

As the co-lead for major market events, this advisor takes a leadership role in coordinating well-established events like the Houston Gala, Houston Golf Classic, and Houston Crawfish Boil while providing strategic support for other large donor-facing events including the Houston Walk and San Antonio Gala. The job demands adept collaboration, strategic expense management, innovative problem-solving, and adherence to organizational policies. Every detail from logistics, design, décor, catering, vendor management to marketing collateral liaising falls within this role’s comprehensive scope. The Advisor leverages industry best practices and innovative solutions to create seamless, engaging, mission-centered experiences that deepen donor relationships and support life-saving research.

This role also involves practical responsibilities like conducting market research, negotiating contracts, and managing projects within budget and time constraints to maximize cost efficiencies while maintaining event quality. An essential part of the job includes troubleshooting and customer service on event days to guarantee smooth execution and client satisfaction. Importantly, the position includes a travel requirement of approximately 30%, along with provision of a company vehicle equipped with AAA membership, insurance, maintenance, and a fuel card for both business and personal use. With opportunities for certifications such as Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) encouraged, this position suits a professional with experience and a mission-driven mindset eager to join a meaningful cause at ALSAC.
