Job Description
Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church (MDPC) is a well-established faith community committed to providing a welcoming environment that embodies the values of Christ's love and service. As a prominent institution in its community, MDPC offers a broad range of ministry programs, fellowship opportunities, and community outreach services. The church is recognized not only for its spiritual leadership but also for its dedication to hospitality and excellent service during its many events, gatherings, and special occasions. MDPC’s facilities include kitchen and catering services that support various internal and external events, ranging from daily staff lunches to large weddings and memorial services. With a mission steeped in servant leadership and community engagement, MDPC seeks to uphold the highest standards in all aspects of hospitality, ensuring that every guest and member feels valued and cared for during their time on campus.
The Banquet/Catering & Hospitality Manager at MDPC is a critical leadership role focused on managing day-to-day kitchen operations and hospitality functions with an emphasis on food service excellence and guest experience. This full-time exempt position reports directly to the Director of Facilities and requires approximately 40 hours per week, including the flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends. The manager’s responsibilities encompass coordinating all catering services, supporting a wide variety of church events including weddings, funerals, receptions, ministry meetings, community programs, and special church occasions such as Advent, Christmas, and Easter. The role demands a hospitality-minded servant leader who thrives in creating inviting atmospheres and who understands the ministry-oriented mission of MDPC. Beyond managing food services, the manager also oversees kitchen standards, ensures compliance with food safety regulations, handles volunteer recruitment and supervision, and collaborates closely with church staff and ministry leaders. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine hospitality expertise with a commitment to service within a vibrant faith-based community. The Banquet/Catering & Hospitality Manager directly contributes to the church’s mission by fostering meaningful hospitality experiences that support and enhance church programming and community engagement.
