Job Description
Tasting Collective (tastingcollective.com) is the nation’s largest private supper club community dedicated to reinventing the traditional dining experience. Founded with the mission to bring people together through the shared love of food, Tasting Collective partners with the finest independent restaurants across the United States to create extraordinary culinary events. By transforming dining rooms into vibrant culinary stages, this innovative company allows chefs to showcase their talents while fostering meaningful connections with food enthusiasts. Presently active in 18 cities, Tasting Collective has become a beacon for food lovers in search of unique dining adventures and intimate culinary performances.
We are currently seeking a talented Houston Event Lead to join our team in a part-time capacity. As the Houston Event Lead, you will serve as the face of Tasting Collective at some of the city’s best independent restaurants, playing a crucial role in executing seamless dining experiences. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with acclaimed chefs, restaurant staff, and our enthusiastic members, ensuring each event runs flawlessly from start to finish.
The role involves coordinating all event logistics on site, including setting up necessary equipment such as PA systems, guest name tags, and menus, configuring seating charts, and providing a warm welcome to attendees. Additionally, you will be responsible for emceeing the events, leading engaging Q&A sessions with the chefs, and overseeing the breakdown and return of equipment post-event. We are looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and who can confidently manage interactions with diverse stakeholders while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Ideal candidates will be highly organized, personable, and self-assured, with the ability to delegate tasks and manage staff effectively. Dependability is paramount, as you will be working independently to drive the success of each event. Past experience in event coordination, theater or performance production, TV or film production, or restaurant work is a definite plus, though not a requirement. Above all, a passion for food and creating memorable experiences is essential.
This is a part-time role requiring availability primarily on event days, approximately 1-2 days per month, with events typically held on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, with occasional Thursday evenings. Please note that this is not a full-time position and is not suitable for those seeking traditional 9-5 employment, as event duties usually begin around 11:30 AM on event days.
The compensation for this role is $400 per event day, reflecting the important and engaging nature of this position. If you are excited about being at the forefront of Houston’s culinary scene and eager to play a key role in delivering extraordinary dining experiences, Tasting Collective invites you to join our vibrant community and dynamic team.
