The role of an Alamo Runner at the Austin location is essential to delivering this exceptional experience. This position focuses on food and beverage service in the theater, ensuring each guest receives attentive, courteous, and prompt service that aligns with the brand's high standards of hospitality and safety. As an Alamo Runner, you will maintain safe food handling practices while delivering orders accurately and efficiently to their correct seats based on theater floor maps. You will also play a crucial role in the safe service of alcohol by checking identification and monitoring consumption according to local and state regulations. Beyond service delivery, the role requires maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment throughout the theater, lobby, and restrooms, performing opening and closing duties as assigned. Communication and teamwork are key, as Runners work closely with Production staff, Greeters, Managers, and other team members to anticipate guest needs, handle requests discreetly, and elevate the overall guest experience while minimizing disruptions.

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays (minimum 3 days a week, at least one day being a weekend)
  • Ability to move with caution and work collaboratively in a loud, sometimes dark, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to bend, duck, crouch, walk up and down stairs, carry multiple plates/trays, and deliver food while limiting disruptions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at one time and repeatedly during entire shift
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to maintain physical stamina and coordination in a fast-paced setting
  • Stays up-to-date on all local food/beverage compliance regulations, safety courses, and assigned online trainings
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to climb stairs

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in hospitality/guest services
  • Prior food and beverage safety/handling experience
  • Knowledge of food safety practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with local and state alcohol service regulations

Job Duties

  • Maintains and supports all company safety standards
  • Conducts quality food checks and delivers food/beverage orders to the correct seats consistent with venue theater floor maps
  • Knowledgeable of the Alamo menu and common allergens
  • takes necessary safety precautions as needed
  • Responsible for safe alcohol service, including checking IDs on drink delivery and monitoring guest consumption, following local and state regulations
  • Checks guest tickets to ensure they are in the correct seat
  • Maintains a cheerful, courteous disposition with guests and teammates, and communicates efficiently with Production staff, Greeters, Managers, and guests
  • Anticipates guest needs and monitors notifications for guest requests
  • Focuses on supporting guests as needed, while limiting disruptions
  • Responsible for theater, lobby, and restroom cleaning, as well as opening and closing duties as assigned, to maintain cleanliness standards across all high-touch areas
  • Provides support in identifying guest issues and reports them to the management team
  • Anticipates and maintains appropriate stocking levels of necessary supplies, completes prep and side work, and assists with additional operational tasks as needed for efficient service
  • Completes tasks with efficiency and a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork skills
  • Knowledgeable of Alamo policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned
