Currently, CoreCivic is seeking a Food Service Manager, Community Corrections, to join their team. This role offers an hourly wage of $19.20 and represents a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Food Service Department within a community corrections setting. The Food Service Manager will lead, organize, and manage the preparation, quality, and delivery of meals to residents, ensuring compliance with established menus, dietary guidelines set by registered dietitians, and state and local food handling regulations. This role demands a professional with a passion for quality service, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards in a residential environment.

The Food Service Manager will supervise food service staff and residents, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to cost control measures. Key responsibilities include supervising meal preparation, inspecting food quality, ensuring sanitation compliance, managing meal serving schedules, and enforcing proper portion control and food temperature standards. This position calls for strong leadership skills, operational knowledge in food service management, and the capability to maintain effective administrative and professional relations within the facility. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  • three years experience in food service and prior supervisory experience required
  • additional education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years
  • must meet all state and local government food handling requirements
  • a valid driver’s license is required
  • must demonstrate a knowledge of all aspects of food service operation including cost control, food quality, safety and sanitation
  • minimum age requirement: must be at least 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • Supervise food service staff and residents in the performance of their duties and evaluate as prescribed by facility and corporate policy
  • supervise the preparation of meals in accordance with standard menus and recipe cards approved by a registered dietitian
  • inspect and taste prepared foods to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations
  • direct the serving of meals in accordance with feeding schedule and in compliance with standards to include portion control, temperature and proper serving procedures
