Job Description

HHS is a private, family-owned business dedicated to caring for its team members and providing honest, quality-driven customer service. Founded in 1975 as Hospital Housekeeping Systems, today HHS delivers comprehensive services including housekeeping, food service, and facility management to nearly 1,000 customers across six distinct industries. With steady and rapid growth, HHS prides itself on fostering leadership from within the organization, offering numerous opportunities for career advancement. Their strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) ensures a work environment where individuals from all backgrounds feel heard, respected, and supported in their professional growth. As a company rooted in family values and quality service, HHS is actively seeking motivated leaders to join their expanding team and contribute to their mission of excellence and integrity in service delivery.

The Food Service Manager role at HHS is a leadership position focused on managing the food service department to deliver exceptional service and high-quality output. This role demands a proactive leader capable of directing a team environment that fosters morale, passion, quality, and mutual respect. The manager will collaborate closely with dietitians and chefs to develop menus that align with market trends while delivering nutritional value. Ensuring customer and patient satisfaction through consistent communication, integrity, and strong performance is paramount. This position involves hands-on management responsibilities including recruiting, training, development, and scheduling of team members, as well as handling daily inspections and performance coaching.

In addition, the manager oversees inventory management, vendor relationships, budget compliance, payroll, and supplies, ensuring efficient operations and cost control. They are also responsible for implementing team-building strategies that cultivate a positive and safe workplace and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of food operations experience including three years in a management capacity. Certification such as ServSafe Food Service Manager Certification is required, and experience with cash handling, various POS systems, and relevant computer skills will be critical in this role. HHS values leaders who exhibit strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, professionalism, sound decision-making, and business ethics. Additional desirable skills include bilingual capabilities, particularly Spanish, and prior experience in a hospital setting would be an advantage.

HHS offers a competitive benefits package that includes paid time off, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and opportunities for career development and ongoing training. Candidates considering this role should also be prepared for possible relocation for promotion opportunities and must comply with healthcare facility requirements regarding COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemptions. Veterans and individuals with military experience are encouraged to apply, reflecting the organization's inclusive hiring practices and dedication to workplace diversity. By joining HHS, professionals have the chance to develop their careers within a supportive company culture while making a meaningful impact in the healthcare food service industry.
