Job Description

Marion Correctional Institution, managed in partnership with Aramark, provides comprehensive food service operations within a correctional facility environment. Aramark is a well-established provider of food services in institutional settings, including correctional institutions, hospitals, and educational facilities. Known for its commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency, Aramark ensures the delivery of nutritious meals that meet strict industry and regulatory standards. As an employer, Aramark offers its staff supportive work environments, competitive benefits packages, and opportunities for professional development.

The role of Kitchen Operations Supervisor at Marion Correctional Institution is crucial to the daily operations of the facility's kitchen. This position demands an individual who can effectively oversee inmate workers and staff to ensure that food preparation follows the production schedule and adheres to Aramark’s rigorous standards. The Kitchen Operations Supervisor is responsible not only for supervising day-to-day kitchen operations but also for maintaining cleanliness, upholding safety and security protocols, and adapting to changing client needs and operational requirements. This role combines leadership, organizational skills, and hands-on food service involvement to boost productivity and maintain a secure, efficient kitchen environment.

In this role, you will lead a team that includes both staff and inmates, delegating duties and instructing personnel in food production and assembly while ensuring all meals meet Aramark’s quality standards. You will manage food production processes, oversee compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP, and guarantee that meals are served promptly and effectively. Security is woven into every aspect of this position, requiring keen attention to protocol adherence including safe storage of food and tools, proper handling of equipment keys, and maintaining a hazard-free workspace.

Additionally, your responsibilities will extend to scheduling kitchen workers and sanitation routines, supervising performance to foster teamwork and professional growth, and participating in inventory management and equipment maintenance. Your oversight will also include rigorous documentation such as production records, temperature logs, and inventory requisitions. The role requires a hands-on approach, involving direct participation in food preparation and service functions, ensuring that supervisors lead by example.

This career opportunity is ideal for individuals who have at least one year of experience in food preparation or related roles, possess supervisory skills, and can effectively work within a structured, secure environment. Experience working with inmate populations or in correctional settings is advantageous. At Aramark and Marion Correctional Institution, you will be part of a team dedicated to safety, quality, and operational excellence. With a focus on staff welfare, Aramark provides a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, retirement savings plans, and paid time off, enhancing work-life balance and job satisfaction. Join us to contribute to a vital service that ensures meal quality and operational integrity in a challenging and rewarding setting.
