Job Duties
- follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning
- participate in ongoing state-approved training and educational initiatives relating to food and nutrition services
- demonstrate and promote exceptional customer service using good judgment and professionalism when interacting with the general public, students, parents, and staff
- operate point-of-sale systems according to federal guidelines when assigned
- adhere to food safety rules, departmental procedures, and hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP) ensuring a safe work environment
- perform kitchen duties including pre-preparation, food production, service, backup, clean-up, and check-in orders
- assist in ensuring meal service is safe and food is served according to approved meal pattern requirements
- assist with ordering, proper storage, and inventories for supplies and food items
- follow written recipes and instructions for food preparation, record time, amounts used, leftovers, and temperature on production worksheets
- operate food service equipment safely
- maintain a clean work environment by removing and disposing of garbage
- ensure sanitation practices including compliance with personal hygiene and grooming standards
- perform necessary cleaning of food service equipment and facilities
- drive vans to satellite sites for food delivery and clean
- drive refrigerated/freezer trucks between sites
- perform and promote activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies
- participate in training programs to enhance skills
- review current developments related to job responsibilities
- ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures
- follow federal and state laws and school board policies
