The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is designed for individuals passionate about food preparation and customer service within a fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the manager, this position is integral to maintaining exemplary standards in food quality, safety, and sanitation in the kitchen. The role involves assisting with food and meal preparation, managing cash receipts, maintaining meal records, and generating daily reports to ensure transactional accuracy. Candidates will be responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods in line with planned menus and adhering to food safety regulations.
One key aspect of this role is ensuring food storage is accurate and sanitary, with strict adherence to kitchen safety practices. Food Service Workers serve meals according to schedules and department policies, employ proper care and use of kitchen equipment, and add garnishments to meals to enhance customer satisfaction creatively. The role demands a collaborative approach to kitchen maintenance, including coordinating cleaning efforts for refrigerators, freezers, and other equipment, as well as keeping the food service area clean and organized.
Physical demands of the role may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing for long periods. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to the company’s uniform policy are also required. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in food service or related field preferred
- ability to lift and carry heavy items
- good communication skills
- ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
- availability to work flexible hours
- willingness to wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment
- physical ability to perform duties including standing for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- Food Service Certificate as needed
- sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and garnishments
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
- use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
