About the Role: As the Production Manager at The Fresh Market, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving the operational standards and team management within the Production department. This is a fast-paced, early morning role typically requiring availability from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m., where you will lead a team responsible for ensuring that premium products and complete meal solutions meet the company's high-quality standards. Reporting directly to the Store Operations Manager, you will cultivate a culture of leadership, hospitality, excellence, and teamwork.

Your responsibilities will encompass directing and managing all functions of the Production department, ensuring timely and efficient production of key items supporting multiple departments including Deli-CMS, Meat-Seafood, Bakery, and Produce. You will oversee proper receiving and stocking of goods, ensuring strict rotation standards and product quality to minimize shrink and damage. Leading by example, you will provide hands-on coaching and training through The Fresh Market Academy, both in-person and online, to equip team members with the necessary skills to deliver excellent guest service while maintaining high safety and quality control standards.

This leadership role demands strong motivation and engagement skills to foster a high-performing, guest-focused team environment. You will create and manage schedules aligning production activities with guest shopping hours, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business. Strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills are critical to your success in this role, along with proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office. A food safety certification or the willingness to obtain one after hire is also required. Preferred qualifications include an associate’s degree in business or retail management, experience in grocery or fresh food retail sectors, knowledge of inventory management and financial reporting, and bilingual abilities are considered a plus.
