- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, communications, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in event planning and project coordination
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficient in budgeting and financial management
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Familiarity with event promotion and marketing
- Knowledge of relevant permits, licenses, and insurance requirements
- Experience managing staff and volunteers
Job Duties
- Plan and execute campus events and special projects
- Collaborate with departments and organizations for event coordination
- Develop and maintain event budgets and timelines
- Coordinate logistical aspects including venue, catering, and transportation
- Communicate and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
- Work with marketing teams to promote events
- Ensure compliance with permits, licenses, and insurance
- Oversee event staff and volunteers
- Conduct post-event evaluations
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
- Handle issues during events calmly and efficiently
- Represent the University professionally
