Job Description
Clear Path for Veterans is a respected nonprofit organization based in Central New York dedicated to honoring and supporting veterans, service members, and their families. The organization provides programs that promote wellness, community engagement, and purpose to members of the veteran community. With a mission founded on the principle that veterans thrive when connected, valued, and supported, Clear Path has established itself as a trusted partner through impactful programming and meaningful engagements. As the organization expands its reach and deepens its impact, it is committed to fostering sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term mission success by enhancing its development operations. This includes bolstering fundraising efforts and community involvement to create a supportive environment for veterans and their families.
The Development Manager - Events plays a critical role at Clear Path for Veterans by leading the planning and execution of the organization's major fundraising events and various engagement activities throughout the year. This position is essential in ensuring that events run smoothly, on schedule, and within budget, while delivering outstanding experiences for donors, sponsors, veterans, and community partners. Reporting directly to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Development Manager collaborates closely with staff across Development, Marketing, Volunteer, Programs, and Operations departments to coordinate all facets of event management. The role demands meticulous attention to detail in managing event logistics, vendor relations, and volunteer coordination, as well as maintaining strong relationships with sponsors and donors to fulfill event sponsorship agreements and support fundraising goals.
This position offers a salary range of $52,000 to $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience, and requires a flexible work schedule with occasional evening and weekend commitments dependent on event needs. As an integral part of the organization's philanthropy team, the Development Manager will oversee Clear Path's three major annual fundraising events plus various smaller engagements. Responsibilities include creating detailed event timelines, handling budgets and expense tracking in partnership with Operations, managing contracts with venues and service providers, and spearheading day-of event operations to guarantee seamless execution.
In addition to event management, the Development Manager fosters cross-team coordination by working with marketing on promotional materials and with the volunteer manager on recruitment and deployment strategies. The role also involves data-driven post-event reporting and donor stewardship activities to sustain ongoing community support and engagement. Candidates must demonstrate at least three to five years of experience in nonprofit event management or related roles, with a background in coordinating complex events involving diverse stakeholders and tight timelines. Familiarity with veteran or military-connected populations, although preferred, is not mandatory. Proficiency in donor management software such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications is essential.
Ideal candidates will exhibit strong project management capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while fostering collaborative teamwork across departments. This opportunity is perfect for a motivated professional passionate about making a direct impact on veterans' lives by supporting fundraising efforts through expertly managed events and community engagement initiatives. Clear Path for Veterans embraces a mission-driven work environment where employees contribute to an important cause, work alongside dedicated colleagues, and develop professionally within a growing nonprofit organization.
