Job Requirements
- 2+ years of culinary management experience with competence in managing and writing prep lists
- valid driver’s license
- experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- proven track record in managing teams and identifying/developing employees for future leadership roles
- experience in executing effective training programs
- strong communication and organizational skills
- understanding of inventory management, cost control, and overall financial oversight
- able to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours each shift
- capable of reaching, bending, and lifting objects weighing up to 30 lbs repeatedly during shifts
- may need to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in various temperature conditions, particularly warm kitchen environments
Job Qualifications
- At least 2 years of culinary management experience
- experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- proven ability to manage and develop teams
- experience executing effective training programs
- strong communication and organizational skills
- understanding of inventory management, cost control, and financial oversight
- valid driver’s license for occasional offsite duties
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- capable of lifting up to 30 lbs repeatedly
- knowledge of safety certification requirements
- proficiency in kitchen operations and food preparation
- familiarity with workplace safety and cleanliness standards
Job Duties
- Ensure operational excellence in the kitchen
- delegate tasks and provide direction to all kitchen staff
- conduct initial interviews for kitchen management and staff candidates
- oversee the selection, orientation, and continuous development of sous chefs and kitchen staff
- create work schedules for sous chefs and kitchen staff
- maintain safety certification requirements for all kitchen staff
- supervise training for food preparation and execution of menu items, procedures, and recipes for all kitchen staff
- ensure quality standards for all food products
- monitor and maintain food costs and inventory
- manage timing and production for food orders
- conduct performance appraisals for sous chefs and kitchen staff
- enforce dress code standards for kitchen staff
- oversee prep lists and ordering guides
- complete opening and closing checklists
- manage maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment and facilities
- demonstrate proficiency in all kitchen stations
- ensure a clean and safe environment for team members and guests
