The Kitchen Manager role at Fixins Soul Kitchen's Tulsa, OK location represents a vital leadership position within the heart of house operations. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role emphasizes operational excellence by ensuring that culinary quality, team training, and process management standards are upheld to achieve superior guest satisfaction. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for driving all aspects of kitchen management including food preparation that adheres strictly to company recipes and portioning guidelines. This person will serve as a key leader in fostering a productive and positive work environment, mentoring staff for professional growth and managing performance to meet high standards of service, food quality, sanitation, and facility maintenance. Additionally, the Kitchen Manager will oversee scheduling, inventory management, equipment upkeep, and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Several years' experience as a senior kitchen manager or similar
  • Business math proficiency
  • Strong leadership and decision-making ability
  • Computer literacy including email and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with large teams

Job Qualifications

  • Several years' experience as a senior level kitchen manager or similar position
  • Excellent business math skills with the ability to analyze food cost reports effectively to drive greater profitability
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to be flexible and adapt in any situation
  • Good computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in the use of internet and business tools such as email, learning management systems, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing large staff to excellence in fast paced environment

Job Duties

  • Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs
  • Ensure that all guests are free welcomed and given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards
  • Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment
  • Make employment and termination decisions
  • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
  • Continually strive to develop staff in all areas of managerial and professional development
