Job Description

This job opportunity is with a restaurant independently owned and operated by a franchisee licensed to use the McDonald’s brand, logos, and food products. This franchisee operates as a separate company distinct from McDonald’s USA. Employment considerations, including hiring, firing, scheduling, and management decisions, are handled exclusively by the franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. Prospective employees who apply for this position will be employed by this independent franchise and not McDonald’s USA. The restaurant benefits from the world-renowned McDonald’s brand reputation for quality, speed, and customer service while maintaining local ownership that focuses on supporting the community and building a strong team environment. The franchisee commits to providing competitive pay and advancement opportunities within the organization.

As a Department Manager at this McDonald’s franchise restaurant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring an outstanding customer experience, efficient restaurant operations, and strong team leadership. This role offers a satisfying career path with excellent benefits, such as paid vacation, holiday pay, tuition assistance, and health insurance coverage, combined with opportunities for professional growth. Managers at the restaurant lead shifts regularly, overseeing front-of-house and kitchen teams, ensuring food quality and safety, and maintaining operational standards. Some managers may also be entrusted with managing specific systems including training programs, food safety compliance, inventory management, and recruiting and retaining talented crew members.

This position is ideal for dynamic individuals passionate about leadership and working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. You will develop people management skills by coaching employees, handling delegation and goal setting, and collaborating with other managers to drive results. The work schedules are flexible, allowing you to choose your hours and pursue education or other personal goals alongside your career responsibilities. Whether overseeing the Guest Service, Kitchen, or People departments, you will ensure your team delivers fast, accurate, and friendly service while maintaining high standards for food preparation and customer satisfaction.

This role also includes responsibilities like facilitating sales promotions, organizing front counter and McCafé service areas, controlling food costs, and maintaining a positive work culture where crew members are motivated and recognized for their contributions. Previous management experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality settings is preferred, but the key attributes are enthusiasm, teamwork, adaptability, and a passion for delivering a memorable customer experience. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Working at this restaurant franchise means you’re part of a larger community focused on helping employees grow personally and professionally. Benefits include college tuition through Archways to Opportunity, health, dental and vision insurance, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance, paid leaves, service awards, and more. This robust benefits package complements the competitive salary and provides a foundation for long-term career development and work-life balance. If you’re looking for a role that moves you forward, invites you to be your best self, and supports your goals, this manager position could be the right fit. Join a team that values positive energy, leadership development, and delivering great food and service every day.
