The Aquarium has a rich commitment to providing guests with an exciting, educational, and memorable experience through various exhibits, interactive activities, and live demonstrations. Visitors can explore vibrant aquatic habitats, learn about species native to the Gulf and Caribbean, and participate in conservation initiatives that promote the protection of marine environments. The facility serves as a hub for marine education and conservation outreach, partnering with schools, community organizations, and environmental groups to raise awareness and inspire action toward marine stewardship.
Being part of the Texas State Aquarium team offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about marine life and guest service. This seasonal role involves interacting directly with visitors, ensuring their experience is enjoyable and informative. The position includes responsibilities such as operating the cash register, processing admissions and memberships, and maintaining financial accountability in assigned areas. Employees will assist guests with seating in the 4D theater, manage theater equipment and cleanliness, and oversee the splash park area to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. The role also includes offering exceptional customer service by acting as a line or lobby host to answer visitor questions and provide detailed information about the Aquarium’s offerings. School groups are frequently welcomed, and staff serve as greeters to inform these groups about Aquarium rules and encourage respectful interaction with exhibits.

It offers valuable experience in guest relations, cash handling, and operational procedures within a cultural and educational setting. Those selected will join a passionate team dedicated to marine education and conservation, working together to enhance visitor experiences and support the Aquarium’s mission of protection and education. The Texas State Aquarium provides a supportive and fun environment where employees can grow their skills while immersing themselves in the marine world. Whether engaging with families, school groups, or solo visitors, staff members play a crucial role in creating memorable moments that inspire appreciation and respect for our oceans and marine life.
