Job Description
Rocket Farm Restaurants embodies a culture founded on the principle of mutual respect and care with the mantra 'We serve the person who is serving the guest.' This philosophy extends beyond the dining experience and into the very fabric of the workplace, emphasizing dignity and respect among team members, especially in the kitchen. This core value reinforces a supportive and collaborative environment where every member's contribution is appreciated and valued, enhancing the overall guest experience. Rocket Farm Restaurants is known for creating welcoming and ethical workplaces where teamwork and customer service excellence are paramount.
Among Rocket Farm's distinct venues is State of Grace, a restaurant inspired by Houston's diverse culinary heritage. The menu at State of Grace draws from Tex-Mex, Asian, and Vietnamese influences, reflecting the rich cultural melting pot that shapes Chef Ford Fry's culinary vision influenced by his childhood memories. At State of Grace, guests enter a space that encourages them to slow down and savor their experience, intentionally creating a nostalgic atmosphere through carefully curated culinary and service details.
The Host/Hostess position at State of Grace is vital to setting the tone of a guest’s experience from the moment they step through the door. This role requires an individual who is not only positive and energetic but also possesses excellent interpersonal skills, capable of engaging guests warmly and professionally. The Host/Hostess is responsible for welcoming guests and managing seating arrangements efficiently while maintaining composure and clarity during busy times. Key to the role is the ability to read guests' moods and address any concerns promptly and with empathy, ensuring guest satisfaction and a memorable visit.
Familiarity with OpenTable or similar reservation management systems along with some food and beverage experience is preferred for candidates applying to this role. Rocket Farm Restaurants offers competitive pay ranging from $14 to $24 per hour, aligned with experience and skill level. Beyond monetary compensation, employees benefit from a culture that values ethical conduct and mutual respect, coupled with dynamic opportunities for raises, promotions, and ongoing career development through Rocket Farm University.
The company supports work-life balance by offering time off on major holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Employees also enjoy dining discounts at all Rocket Farm locations across key cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, Raleigh, and Winter Park. Additionally, the company fosters growth through mentorship programs, advisory councils, and safety committees. After one year of employment, further benefits become available such as paid time off, parental leave, and comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage. Rocket Farm Restaurants is an equal opportunity employer committed to compliance with federal employment laws, ensuring all applicants understand their rights.
