Job Description

ResCare Community Living, a part of the Sevita family, is a well-established organization dedicated to providing high-quality services that empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since its inception in 1974, ResCare has been committed to enhancing the independence of those they serve, helping them live full, meaningful lives at home and in their communities. As a member of Sevita, ResCare benefits from over five decades of experience and a broad network of resources that enable them to deliver person-centered care tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals. The company prides itself on fostering an environment where both staff and participants thrive, supported by a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about improving lives every day.

This particular opportunity invites compassionate, patient, and reliable individuals to join the team as part-time Caregivers, working specifically on weekends from 6 AM to 6 PM in Garland, TX. The role is integral to Sevita's mission of helping participants grow, learn, and enjoy their lives with dignity and independence. Caregivers at Sevita have the rewarding responsibility of developing meaningful relationships with the individuals they support, assisting them with personal hygiene, behavioral challenges, and the pursuit of developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. This position offers a hands-on approach to making a real difference, empowering individuals to overcome challenges and build skills that enhance their quality of life.

In joining Sevita, employees become part of a thriving community that values trust, initiative, and respect. Caregivers are trusted to act in the best interest of participants, enabling these individuals to participate actively in community activities and enjoy their favorite pastimes. The work environment is supportive, with supervisors dedicated to both participant well-being and employee development.

Sevita not only focuses on the welfare of those they serve but also prioritizes the careers of their employees by offering competitive pay structures, including pay on demand for this part-time role. Full-time employees enjoy an extensive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan with a company match, paid time off, and holiday pay to ensure work-life balance. The organization is stable and growing, ensuring job security and fostering continuous learning and professional development through comprehensive training and support.

The role requires essential qualifications such as a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates who have at least six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to multitask within a team-oriented setting are vital. Candidates must hold a current driver's license with a clean driving record of at least one year and have access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.

By working at Sevita, caregivers step into a career path filled with purpose, growth opportunities, and the personal satisfaction of making a meaningful difference every day. The company’s non-discriminatory employment policies ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace where all are welcomed and valued.
