The role of Housekeeper at Ventana by Buckner, located in Dallas, TX, is a vital position focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hospitality that meet or exceed Buckner's quality expectations. This full-time, onsite position operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM and involves comprehensive cleaning tasks that cover residents' rooms, bathrooms, offices, and common areas. The Housekeeper is responsible for a variety of duties including cleaning surfaces, polishing fixtures, mopping and waxing floors, vacuuming carpets, and ensuring all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and effectively. Attention to detail and a cheerful disposition are essential, as is the ability to interact courteously with residents, visitors, and co-workers.

In this role, the Housekeeper will undertake important tasks such as performing minor repairs, assisting dietary staff when necessary, maintaining organization in storage and linen areas, and identifying potential hazards to prevent accidents. The position requires physical activity including moving furniture and operating cleaning machinery, underscoring the need for safety awareness and proper handling techniques. Communication skills are important, as the Housekeeper will need to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and engage positively with the community. Job Requirements

Requires in-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations
Prior related experience preferred
Requires basic knowledge of house cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, etc., cleaning agents, and sanitation/cleaning requirements
Preferred ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English
Requires ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers
Requires ability to make self clearly understood by others
Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions
Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility on a daily basis
Work deals mostly with objects, equipment, and/or machines at or within arm's reach
Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance
Requires ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Qualifications

In-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations
Prior related experience preferred
Basic knowledge of house cleaning devices such as brooms, mops, cleaning agents, and sanitation/cleaning requirements
Ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English preferred

Job Duties

Performs all duties in a courteous manner and maintains excellence in customer service including but not limited to cheerfully greeting residents and visitors and exercising respect with co-workers
Cleans and services rooms, baths, and offices
dusts furniture and equipment
cleans windows, window sills, light globes
empties trash baskets and removes trash
cleans and polishes bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar items
replenishes supplies of soap and towels
cleans and polishes brass, glass panels, doors, partitions, and paneling
checks and fills all dispensers – hand soap, paper
Cleans, mops, and treats floors
strips, waxes, and buffs floors as needed
vacuums all carpet
shampoos carpet as directed
Mixes/dilutes housekeeping chemicals and products according to instructions
Moves furniture as needed in accordance with safety policies and procedures
Makes minor repairs and adjustments
replaces light bulbs
repairs clogged sinks, commodes, or drains
Assists dietary unit as needed with set ups, clean up, policing spills during meals, etc.
Keeps utility storage rooms in good order by cleaning lockers and equipment, arranging supplies, and sweeping and mopping floor
Organizes and maintains linen closets in a safe and orderly condition at all times
Reports issues of department equipment when it is not in good working condition in accordance with manufacturer’s operational standards
Detects and corrects, or reports, hazardous conditions that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to residents, employees, or visitors
