The Service Technician position at Greystar is a critical role responsible for maintaining the physical aspects of the company’s properties to ensure they meet high standards of cleanliness, appearance, safety, and functionality. This position requires keen technical and mechanical skills to perform work on buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas. The technician will be tasked with completing maintenance and repair work orders generated from resident service requests, as well as engaging in preventative maintenance procedures to uphold property standards. A key part of the role includes preparing vacant apartment homes through a thorough make-ready process that involves inspections, maintenance planning, vendor coordination, and final quality inspections to ensure readiness for new tenants. This role demands adherence to safety standards, company policies, and code requirements, along with precise documentation and record-keeping of all completed tasks and work orders.
Additionally, Service Technicians support the upkeep of outdoor spaces by managing trash removal, cleaning, pressure washing, and painting. The role emphasizes cost management by encouraging repair over replacement, efficient use of materials, and correct tool use. Candidates must be physically capable of handling demanding tasks such as standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, lifting weights up to 50 pounds with assistance, and working in a variety of weather conditions. Flexibility for on-call duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays is also required.
The position offers an hourly wage range of $18.00 to $27.00, dependent on experience, location, and other factors, with potential eligibility for bonus programs based on individual and company performance. Comprehensive benefits accompany the role, including competitive medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, generous paid time off, onsite housing discounts for team members, a paid sabbatical program, 401(k) matching, parental leave, and various employee assistance programs. Candidates must possess required certifications such as EPA certification for refrigerant recycling where applicable and valid driver’s licenses for operating golf carts on property.
Overall, the Service Technician role at Greystar represents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their careers in a dynamic, fast-growing, globally recognized real estate company dedicated to delivering top-tier residential living experiences with an unwavering commitment to quality and safety.
