The Life Skills Trainer/Caregiver position based in Garland, TX, at our NeuroRestorative facility located on W Campbell Rd, is a full-time role offering flexible day and night shifts from 6 am to 6 pm and 6 pm to 6 am, respectively. This role is ideal for compassionate individuals committed to making a profound difference in the lives of those they support. As a Life Skills Trainer/Caregiver, you will be pivotal in assisting individuals with brain and medically complex injuries in improving their quality of life by facilitating daily living skills, promoting community involvement, and supporting therapeutic goals.
The role requires a hands-on approach where you will provide training, assistance, and supervision to clients in residential and community settings. Your duties will include helping with daily activities like meal preparation, personal hygiene, shopping, cleaning, and medication administration. You will also help manage and facilitate employment relationships and accompany individuals to their community engagements or work activities, ensuring a supportive and safe environment. Collaborating closely with clinical staff, you will support the implementation of therapeutic and behavioral plans to maximize the client’s progress.

Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Six months to one year of experience in the human services field
- Valid Driver's License from state of residence
- Must be minimum of 21 years of age
- Successful clearance of background checks
- A caring attitude with a dedication to assisting others
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication skills
- A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach
- A commitment to quality in everything you do

Job Duties
- Provide training, assistance and supervision to individuals receiving care in the areas of living skills, therapeutic recreation, and other forms of assistance in both residential and community settings
- Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, shopping, cleaning, and medication administration
- Facilitate the working relationships between employers and individuals served, and support community involvement by accompanying them on outings, or providing transportation to work or other activities
- Work closely with our clinical staff to support the therapeutic and behavioral plans in place
