The role of Sous Chef at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek is a vital leadership position within the Food & Beverage Culinary department. This full-time permanent role supports the Private Dining/Banquet Chef and is instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and operational efficiency throughout the property's kitchen operations. The Sous Chef supervises daily kitchen activities, guiding a dynamic team that includes line cooks and service personnel, while collaborating closely with Purchasing, Stewarding, and Engineering departments to provide exceptional culinary experiences.

In this position, the Sous Chef leads kitchen operations by coordinating food preparation and production, managing inventory, and overseeing proper storage and handling of ingredients such as produce, meat, and seafood. The role involves actively supporting menu development, contributing innovative ideas, testing new recipes, and maintaining cost controls, particularly for food and labor. Compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and sanitation standards is a critical responsibility.

Leadership and team development are central to the Sous Chef's duties. The role requires training, coaching, and motivating kitchen colleagues to foster a positive, productive work environment that supports employee growth and team performance. Job Duties

  • Lead and supervise daily kitchen operations ensuring exceptional food quality presentation and consistency across all outlets
  • Coordinate food production preparation and service assigning priorities and tasks to the kitchen team
  • Monitor inventory manage ordering of produce meat and seafood and ensure proper storage and handling of all food items
  • Support menu development testing recipes and contributing creative ideas while maintaining cost controls
  • Ensure compliance with company policies health and safety regulations and sanitation standards at all times
  • Train coach and motivate kitchen colleagues fostering a positive and productive working environment
