Job Requirements
- Must be willing to travel to various SpaceX locations for mission critical projects
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), Refugee under 8 U.S.C. section 1157, or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. section 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2 years of culinary leadership experience
- Degree or certificate in culinary arts
- High-volume production or catering experience
- Ability to assist in creating innovative menus
- Strong ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Creative mindset with a desire to contribute to the culinary experience and culture at SpaceX
Job Duties
- Assist with cost controls and help monitor expenditures
- Support the creation of pricing schedules for meals
- Help source high-quality ingredients with a focus on local, sustainable, and organic items
- Assist in planning and executing menus with an emphasis on seasonal items and creative menu choices
- Support purchasing and inventory management
- Enforce food quality standards
- Participate in staff meetings focused on food safety, quality, and new ideas
- Ensure the safety of the physical kitchen and café space
- Create a pleasant and fun environment for SpaceX employees to meet and share a meal
- Support the delivery of in-house catering and assist with company and special events
