Job Description

Wildewood Downs is a distinguished luxury senior living community celebrated not only for its outstanding care and services but also recognized as a Great Place to Work. This recognition underlines the community's commitment to fostering a positive work environment where employees feel valued and supported. At Wildewood Downs, the core philosophy is "People First, Always," which reflects the dedication to compassion, respect, and meaningful relationships that characterize the culture here. The organization understands that its team members are its greatest asset, and this belief drives every aspect of its operations, from daily interactions to long-term community development and resident care.

Wildewood Downs offers an enriching environment where seniors can live fulfilling and vibrant lives with dignity and joy. The community caters to a diverse population of residents, including those in independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing. It prioritizes creating a supportive and engaging atmosphere not only for residents but also for staff and family members. Employees at Wildewood Downs experience a culture that fosters continuous personal and professional growth, teamwork, and collaboration, helping them make a meaningful impact every day.

The Full-Time Life Enrichment Leader role at Wildewood Downs is a dynamic and impactful position designed for individuals passionate about enhancing the quality of life for older adults. This role involves creating, marketing, and leading a wide array of spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, and emotional programs tailored specifically to the interests and needs of the community’s residents. The Life Enrichment Leader plays a crucial role in promoting a Weller lifestyle—a vibrant approach to aging that emphasizes activity, engagement, and personal growth.

Responsibilities include engaging residents through formal activities and informal interactions, planning diverse programming aligned with community standards, and continuously adapting the offerings based on residents' feedback and preferences. The Life Enrichment Leader also builds partnerships with external organizations, educational institutions, and nonprofits to bring new talents and volunteering opportunities to residents, enriching their daily experiences. Effective communication is essential in this role, as the Life Enrichment Leader creates written materials to promote programs, educate families, and share highlights of community life.

This position demands a proactive approach to keeping abreast of trends in active aging and generational interests, sharing knowledge with peers, and supporting ongoing professional development. The Life Enrichment Leader works closely with the team and the wider home office to deliver orientation and training programs, participate in innovative initiatives like the WAVES pool program, and potentially run family support groups. The role requires attending regular in-service training and contributing to the community's continuous improvement.

Wildewood Downs values key competencies such as technical skills, effective communication, self-motivation, flexibility, and interpersonal skills that foster teamwork and professionalism. The ability to handle sensitive situations with ethics and integrity is paramount, as is demonstrating a people-first attitude consistently. Physical demands include the capability to stand, walk, lift moderately weighted objects, and adapt to a work environment that may involve noise, exposure to fluids, and emotionally challenging situations.

The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate or have a GED, with CPR and AED certification to be obtained within the first 60 days of employment. Activities certification and a degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field are highly desired.
