The Technical Systems Education Analyst at Prisma Health plays a pivotal role in the education and training ecosystem within the organization, specifically focused on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, predominantly Epic. This position is essential for ensuring that all healthcare staff are proficient, updated, and confident in using the EMR system, which is critical for efficient patient care and clinical operations. The Technical Systems Education Analyst is responsible for building and maintaining the EMR training environment, ensuring that it accurately reflects the production setting for effective learning and practice. This role involves updating and modifying comprehensive training materials, including lesson plans, exercise books, job aids, simulations, and scenarios within both the Master Setting Table (MST) and production systems.
A key function of the role is to credential, cross-train, and audit educators who provide instruction on various Epic applications, ensuring consistent quality and alignment with the latest system updates. This position requires expert knowledge of Epic's application curriculum and training environment, enabling the analyst to troubleshoot issues, offer practical solutions, and maintain the highest standards in training delivery. Collaboration with Epic Analysts is integral to maintain alignment on system enhancements and updates, guaranteeing that training content remains current and relevant.
In addition to managing training resources, the Technical Systems Education Analyst is responsible for supporting end-user training directly as needed, addressing user challenges, and facilitating continuous improvement in user competency. The analyst also manages critical processes such as rebuilding and refreshing the MST environment, overseeing the Application Parking Lot, maintaining the Template Training Requirement crosswalk, and coordinating the Training Schedule and Catalogue.
This position requires a strong background in adult education theory, project management, and healthcare information systems, with an emphasis on experiential knowledge of the Epic system. With a mix of technical aptitude and educational skills, the Technical Systems Education Analyst influences the organization’s ability to provide seamless, effective EMR training, ultimately contributing to better patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Job Requirements
- Education - bachelor’s degree in general education, information sciences, business management, training and development, clinical informatics, project management or related field of study
- Experience - three (3) years of healthcare experience with at least two (2) years Epic education/training experience
- Prefer experience working with Epic
- Skill and experience in adult education
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: three (3) years education/training experience and/or completed certification or certification pending in Epic Application Curriculum and Epic Application Training Environment may be considered
- Certification in Epic Application Curriculum - must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Certification in Epic Application Training Environment - must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Computer skills (word processing, database)
- Knowledge of office equipment

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in General Education, Information Sciences, Business Management, Training and Development, Clinical Informatics, Project Management or related field of study

Job Duties
- Builds and maintains the training environment used in providing end-user training on EMR (Epic)
- Updates and modifies training materials and MST for systems/programs (Epic, others) and maintains accuracy of lesson plans, exercise books, job aids, simulations and scenarios
- Credentials/cross trains and audits educators on assigned applications
- Collaborates with Epic Analysts to ensure alignment in system updates and other application enhancements
- Develops and delivers remediation plan to educators, as needed
- Troubleshoots issues shared through Service Now, Analysts, or end users
- Trains end users on various assigned applications
- Performs other duties as assigned
