The Bartender role at High Spirits Hospitality is a hands-on position designed for individuals who are dependable, energetic, and team-oriented. This role involves delivering strong bar service and supporting various event operations both behind the scenes and on the floor. Beyond bartending duties, team members in this position assist with setup and breakdown, dishwashing, bussing, stocking, guest greetings, and other banquet or event support tasks as needed. The overall objective is to ensure smooth, polished, and welcoming event experiences that align with the company's remarkable customer service standards.

Bartenders are expected to manage strong bar service and hospitality support during assigned shifts while maintaining readiness, responsiveness, and quality of work to keep events organized, safe, and guest-focused. The role requires responsible alcohol service and the maintenance of clean, stocked, and event-ready bar areas. A positive, team-first attitude with a willingness to assist wherever help is needed is essential to succeed. Responsibilities include pouring beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages swiftly and accurately according to company recipes and standards, restocking supplies, monitoring guests for safe alcohol consumption, completing various setup and cleanup tasks, supporting banquet and event operations, and handling cash or credit card transactions accurately when required.

Staff are also expected to uphold high professional standards and company expectations. This includes taking ownership of assigned work, following through on commitments, representing the company professionally, maintaining clear and courteous communication, managing concerns with sound judgment, and supporting a positive, inclusive, and accountable work environment. Dependability, adaptability, and effective use of digital tools for scheduling and communication are crucial. Bartenders must stay informed about company offerings, policies, safety standards, and service expectations and comply with all applicable laws and licensing requirements related to their work. A professional appearance that reflects the company’s hospitality standards is also required.

Success in this role is measured by well-executed events with strong attention to detail, guests feeling supported and welcomed, timely resolution of issues, and accurate completion of administrative tasks such as recaps, inventory notes, and cash handling. The position operates on a gig-style schedule with events posted 1-4 weeks in advance, primarily requiring availability during weekends and peak seasons from March to May and September to December in the Greenville and Clemson areas. New hires must commit to working specific weekend shifts in September and October.

This is a non-exempt hourly position offering pay between $16 and $18 per hour based on shift and assignment, with eligibility for tips on certain shifts and participation in an employee referral bonus program. Weekly pay is provided. The company seeks candidates with a minimum of two years of bartending experience, comfortable making basic cocktails and supporting a variety of event duties.
