The position of Senior Event Planner at NAVAR offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects in the fields of communications and congressional affairs. This full-time exempt role comes with a competitive salary range between $90,000 and $95,000 per year, reflecting the company’s commitment to attracting seasoned professionals who are experts in event management. The role is situated in Washington DC and is designed for a professional who is adept at coordinating complex events involving senior agency leadership and multifaceted stakeholder interests.

As a Sr. Event Planner, you will be instrumental in managing strategic communications and media coordination while providing exceptional support to the Office of Communications and Congressional Affairs (TCA). Your responsibilities will include developing detailed project plans, coordinating logistics, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing every aspect of event execution from inception to completion. This role demands a high level of organizational skill, the ability to multitask, and the capacity to lead or collaborate within teams as needed. The planner will also be expected to utilize various software tools such as Qualtrics and WebEx to enhance event planning and delivery.

Job Duties

  • Establishing project plan with milestones for assigned event
  • Provide bi-weekly updates to events team including locations researched and quotes received prepared in a cost comparison spreadsheet
  • Provide written recommendations including pros and cons
  • Use software such as Qualtrics and WebEx
  • Work independently or lead teams as needed
  • Identify venues and inspect potential locations including site specifications and requirements
  • Determine room setup and develop room diagrams
  • Coordinate logistics for staging and equipment
  • Identify A/V equipment needs and work with vendors for setup and strike schedules
  • Determine food and beverage service requirements including menu selection and service times
  • Provide onsite logistical management of events
  • Assist with other event management duties as assigned
