Job Description

Encore Decor is a distinguished event design company that specializes in creating memorable event experiences through innovative and emotional décor. The company collaborates closely with event planners and clients during insightful discovery sessions to develop unique event settings, floral decor, and audio-visual-lighting (AVL) effects designed to evoke strong emotional connections with guests. With a wide array of in-house capabilities combined with trusted vendor relationships, Encore Decor goes beyond conventional event solutions for galas, award shows, expos, and receptions, delivering exceptional and personalized services that stand out in the event production industry.

As an event producer at Encore Decor, you play a pivotal role in masterminding the production of events from initial concept to final strike. This is a dynamic position that requires an outgoing personality combined with strong client service skills and extensive knowledge of special event production including branding, creative content, and audio visual elements. You will work directly under the mentorship of the Creative Director, leading the entire production process including brainstorming sessions, creative design development, client communications, budget oversight, logistical planning, and on-site execution. The event producer must maintain professional conduct both onsite and in client interactions while fostering a creative and collaborative atmosphere within the production team.

This position demands a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, exceeding the typical 40-hour workweek during event periods. Although most travel is within the DC Metro area, occasional out-of-state travel may be required. The role requires a hands-on, solutions-oriented individual who is willing to step into various capacities on site including installation, liaison duties, and physical labor such as lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs or more. Familiarity with DC venues, hotels, loading zones, noise ordinances, and other logistical considerations is essential to anticipate and resolve event challenges effectively.

The successful candidate will bring comprehensive knowledge of audio, visual, and lighting components to the position, coupled with excellent creative writing skills critical for client proposals, presentations, and email communications. Experience in prop design, carpentry, and practical tool use is highly valued to fulfill the varied demands of the role. While some technical skills can be learned on the job, a well-rounded and adaptable mindset capable of wearing many hats is crucial. A positive, can-do attitude and meticulous attention to detail ensure each event is executed flawlessly from inception to conclusion.

Overall, Encore Decor offers a collaborative and innovative work environment with flexible scheduling to accommodate the demands of creative event production. Employees benefit from sick leave, holiday and vacation pay, along with competitive health coverage including 50% employee platinum health insurance and 25% coverage for dependents. The event producer role at Encore Decor provides a rewarding opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to spectacular events that leave lasting impressions.
