Job Description
District Winery is a vibrant hospitality establishment located in Washington DC, known for blending traditional winemaking with an urban twist to create unique and magical guest experiences. As part of the First Batch wineries, District Winery is not just a venue but a destination where guests can indulge in exquisite wines, delicious food, and memorable events, all offered in a warm, approachable, and inclusive environment. The winery prides itself on maintaining a down-to-earth attitude that fosters genuine connections, making it a popular choice for weddings, private celebrations, and urban tours that showcase the art and passion of winemaking without guests needing to travel far from the city.
The Junior Event Manager role at District Winery offers an exciting opportunity to join this innovative team as a full-time professional dedicated to impeccable event execution. With a competitive base salary range between $60,000 and $65,000 annually, the position is designed for individuals passionate about hospitality, food, wine, and event management. The role involves coordinating private events from post-sale client management to the seamless execution of the occasion itself. Reporting directly to the Director of Events, the Junior Event Manager becomes integral in ensuring every detail aligns with the winery's vision and high standards.
As a Junior Event Manager, your responsibilities extend beyond administrative duties to include managing event staff, overseeing setup and breakdown processes, and working closely with culinary teams to coordinate food service. You'll be tasked with handling Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), floor plans, and vendor communications while supporting senior Event Managers with event logistics, signage, and organizational tools like Google Drive. This position requires a cool head during fast-paced scenarios, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to solving potential challenges. It also includes client engagement through email, phone, and in-person interactions, all aimed at delivering a warm guest experience that embodies District Winery's values.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years’ experience in event administration and client management, along with a comprehensive understanding of hospitality, food, and wine sectors. Proficiency with event management software like TripleSeat, Merri, and Social Tables, as well as familiarity with Microsoft and Google productivity tools, is essential to support efficient event coordination. Physical stamina is necessary too, as the role demands long hours on your feet, lifting up to 50 pounds, and maneuvering within a multi-level venue.
District Winery's commitment to diversity and equal employment opportunity ensures all applicants are treated fairly without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other legally protected characteristic. By joining this team, you will be part of a company that values passion, collaboration, and a high level of professionalism. Beyond competitive pay, the position offers comprehensive benefits including medical and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, sick leave, floating holidays, and exclusive discounts on food and wine, all designed to support your well-being and professional growth within the food and beverage services industry.
