Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous receptionist or front desk experience preferred
  • excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • strong computer proficiency
  • knowledge of electronic medical records
  • ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift light objects
  • professional demeanor and customer service orientation
  • commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a receptionist or front desk role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • proficient in English oral and written communication
  • strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
  • excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to stand for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 10 pounds, and perform light physical tasks

Job Duties

  • Greeting and assisting patients in person and over the phone in a courteous and professional manner
  • operate a multi-line telephone system to answer, screen, and forward calls
  • take messages and schedule referral appointments
  • check patients in and out, verify insurance and benefit coverage, and collect co-pays or outstanding balances at the time of service
  • assemble and maintain patient charts, including preparation for new and walk-in patients
  • run daily patient count reports and provide copies to the office manager
  • assist patients with paperwork and track walk-outs
  • follow up with patients to reschedule missed appointments
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and reception area
  • monitor and manage waiting room tv content to ensure it is appropriate for all audiences
  • ensure patients complete satisfaction surveys and submit them securely
  • notify medical assistants of patient arrivals and delays to maintain schedule flow
  • respond to patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism
  • assist in emergency situations and provide comfort to patients in distress
  • maintain office supply inventory and notify supervisor of shortages
  • balance and reconcile payments collected during shifts
  • ensure compliance with hipaa regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • use emr system efficiently for patient records and scheduling
