Job Description
The San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, located on the scenic River Walk at 101 Bowie St, San Antonio, Texas, is a distinguished member of Marriott International's esteemed hospitality portfolio. Marriott International is recognized worldwide for its commitment to excellent customer service, innovative hospitality solutions, and dedication to fostering diverse and inclusive work environments. This particular property exemplifies Marriott's legacy by combining a prime location with luxurious accommodations and a variety of premier dining and entertainment options. The hotel serves as both a key destination for business travelers and tourists, offering a robust and dynamic guest experience along the beautiful San Antonio River Walk. Free parking is available on-site, enhancing convenience for staff and guests alike, and the establishment prides itself on maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere throughout its operations.
The position available is a part-time bartender role on the evening shift at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter. This role is crafted not just for individuals adept at mixing drinks but for those who aspire to create unforgettable experiences for guests. The bartender plays a critical role beyond the traditional beverage service. They serve as hosts of their space, responsible for setting the tone of hospitality in the bar area and beyond. The role requires a keen awareness of new trends in beverages, an understanding of micro-local offerings, and the ability to anticipate and respond to guests’ evolving needs. Bartenders not only have to maintain the bar’s flawless appearance and operation but also collaborate closely with other departments within the hotel to ensure a seamless and exceptional guest experience.
Key to the role is a passion for delivering outstanding guest service coupled with meticulous attention to detail. The bartender handles financial transactions, provides accurate and useful information to guests, and ensures every drink served meets high-quality standards. This position requires physical stamina, as it involves standing, walking, and moving throughout an extended shift, and demands the ability to lift and handle items weighing up to 25 pounds independently. The bartender at the Marriott is also expected to uphold company policies, safeguard assets, maintain confidentiality, and present a professional appearance at all times.
The hourly pay rate for this role is $9.70, and the position is tip eligible, acknowledging the direct interaction and service provided to guests. Although no supervisory experience is required, candidates should ideally have at least one year of relevant work experience. Additionally, a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred. Marriott International promotes equal opportunity employment and values the diversity of its workforce. They actively foster an inclusive culture where associates' unique backgrounds and talents are celebrated, supporting a workplace free from discrimination. This role offers a unique chance to be part of a global team renowned for elevating hospitality standards, providing comprehensive training, development opportunities, and a supportive environment where employees can grow and excel. Joining JW Marriott, a luxury brand within Marriott's portfolio, means embracing a culture that prioritizes associate well-being and a sense of community, ultimately delivering the famed JW Treatment™ to every guest and team member alike.
