The Utility / Dishwasher role at SSP America is a critical position that supports the overall guest experience by ensuring all dining and kitchen areas are spotless, hygienic, and well-maintained. The position pays $22.00 per hour and includes full-time working hours. Utility / Dishwashers at SSP America are responsible for a broad range of cleaning and upkeep tasks that contribute to a safe and inviting environment for guests and staff alike. This role goes beyond standard dishwashing duties; it includes maintaining the cleanliness of various surfaces such as floors, walls, ceiling tiles, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, and storage areas.
This position requires attention to detail and uses specialized chemicals to ensure compliance with sanitary standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and take pride in their ability to create a positive guest experience by maintaining hygienic work areas. Additional responsibilities include removing refuse, managing refuse disposal, resetting tables in dining areas between seatings, scraping and washing dishes manually or via dishwashers, assisting guests with special requests, loading and unloading supply trucks, and monitoring food storage by stocking, dating, rotating, and checking temperature levels.

Job Requirements

- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods

Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in a similar utility or dishwashing role is an asset
- knowledge of sanitation and safety standards

Job Duties
- create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
- maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment including floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas
- remove refuse to designated areas
- clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings and transport service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
- scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return to proper storage
- clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards which may include heavy equipment
- assist guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server or supervisor
- load and unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas
- stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
- perform other duties as assigned
