Job Description
McCall's Catering and Events is a well-established catering company recognized as one of San Francisco's most noted caterers. With a strong presence in the city's hospitality landscape, McCall's operates five culinary-forward cafes that emphasize quality and customer experience. The company has built a reputation for excellence, delivering impeccable catering services and managing cafes that focus on innovative and fresh culinary offerings. Their dedication to customer satisfaction and operational excellence positions them as a leader in San Francisco's competitive food service sector.
McCall's Catering and Events is currently seeking dedicated runners/bussers to join their team at various restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops throughout San Francisco. This part-time, hourly position offers a competitive pay rate of $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring a positive and professional attitude, and have a genuine interest in kick-starting a career in the hospitality industry.
The role of a runner/busser is critical in ensuring seamless dining experiences for customers. Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation and serving of hot and cold foods and beverages, including a variety of coffees and teas. Success in this position requires a team player who can assist staff members, maintain the cleanliness and setup of dining areas, and provide excellent customer service. Essential duties involve greeting customers warmly, preparing dining spaces before guests arrive, placing tableware and condiments, serving water and other beverages, refilling drinks, and clearing and resetting tables after use.
Working at McCall's means adhering to high standards for health and safety regulations in both kitchen and dining environments. This role demands physical stamina to lift weights of 20 lbs or more and stand for extended periods, reflecting the dynamic and often physically demanding nature of hospitality work. The company values flexibility, requiring availability for AM and PM shifts, weekends, holidays, and the ability to work across different locations if needed.
Candidates must hold a valid ABC-RBS certification, with CA Foodhandlers certification considered a plus. In addition, McCall's Catering and Events requires all employees to be vaccinated, with accommodations available for disabilities or religious reasons in compliance with regulations. This role offers an excellent stepping stone for individuals passionate about customer service and hospitality, providing valuable experience in a bustling, high-volume cafe and restaurant setting.
McCall's encourages applicants who are eager to grow their career, promising a supportive and engaging workplace culture with opportunities to develop professionally within the company. If you possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering top-tier service, McCall's Catering and Events would like to hear from you. Interested candidates can apply by submitting their job expertise via the company's designated application email. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a respected San Francisco culinary institution and build meaningful experience in hospitality services.
