Job Description

Headway is a leading mental health care platform dedicated to improving access to quality mental health services by connecting licensed therapists with clients seeking care through insurance. As a company, Headway focuses on empowering mental health professionals to accept insurance effortlessly, enabling them to grow their private practices and reach more patients who might otherwise be unable to afford care. Recognized for its innovative approach, Headway supports over 50,000 providers nationwide, offering them credentialing in multiple states, compliance assistance, expansive insurance plan networks, and seamless practice management tools. Through Headway, therapists have the opportunity to secure higher reimbursement rates and dependable bi-weekly payments, enhancing the stability and profitability of their practices. The platform also includes built-in electronic health record features and free continuing education resources to help therapists maintain high professional standards and advance their careers.

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHT) position at Headway offers a unique opportunity for licensed professionals ready to launch or expand a private practice by accepting insurance. Therapists with a Master’s degree or higher holding valid state licenses such as LMHC, LPCMH, LIMHP, LMFT, LMFTS, LCMFT, LPC, LPCC, LCPC, LCPCS, LPCC-S, LCSW, LICSW, or LCSCW and possessing an NPI number and malpractice insurance are invited to join Headway’s network. This role is tailored for those who want to start seeing clients with covered insurance as quickly as possible, benefiting from Headway’s credentialing process that can take as little as 30 days. The platform provides audit support and ongoing compliance resources to ensure that therapists can practice confidently within insurance guidelines.

By joining Headway, mental health therapists gain access to a wide variety of insurance plans including Medicare Advantage and Medicaid, increasing client reach and potential income. The position offers competitive pay, with rates up to $110 per hour, and the opportunity to work on a platform that handles administrative tasks such as scheduling, messaging, documentation, and assessments all in one place. This simplifies the day-to-day practice management and allows therapists to focus more on patient care. Additionally, the platform supports long-term professional growth by offering free continuing education courses through Headway Academy. This role is ideal for fully licensed mental health therapists who are serious about growing their practice, increasing their earnings, and providing accessible mental health care to a broader community. Headway’s focus on both provider and client support ensures that therapists can deliver care in a sustainable, efficient, and fulfilling environment. Applicants should note that the position requires full licensure as Headway cannot support professionals who are not fully licensed at this time.
