The Promotions and Events Manager at Santa Ana Star Casino plays a pivotal role in the marketing department by overseeing, planning, and executing memorable and financially successful promotions and events. This leadership position demands a strategic mindset combined with hands-on operational management to ensure promotions align with the casino’s financial goals and marketing vision. The manager assumes responsibility for the full lifecycle of promotions and events, including budget development, pro-forma creation, implementation, post-event analysis, and collaboration across various departments. Reporting and regulatory compliance are critical aspects of the role, requiring the manager to maintain detailed and timely documentation consistent with casino and legal standards.

In addition to managing projects, the Promotions and Events Manager leads a team responsible for delivering superior guest experiences and achieving high levels of customer engagement through innovative promotional programming and entertainment. The manager must continuously collaborate with the Director of Marketing and other departments to optimize performance, enhance the Player’s Club programs, and create property-wide entertainment initiatives that drive guest loyalty and revenue growth. Job Requirements

  • Preference is given to qualified Santa Ana Tribal members
  • Five years previous work experience in a position requiring organizational skills and attention to detail
  • BS degree preferred, not required
  • Four to seven years professional management experience in marketing, entertainment, promotions or related field
  • Must understand statistics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Responsible, detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Ability to effectively utilize MS Office products
  • Knowledge of casino player tracking systems preferred
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Ability to compose correspondence, manage schedules and projects
  • Must possess good time management, organization and recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere, work independently and handle projects on an individual and/or group basis
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • A smartphone capable of running company applications
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming Regulatory Commission key gaming license

Job Duties

  • Manages all casino promotions and events as they relate to creation, pro-forma, implementation and post analysis
  • Assumes responsibility to make qualified decisions concerning promotions, events and related duties
  • Oversees all required reports for and on behalf of the Promotions and Events divisions maintaining timely and accurate documentation as per Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel specifications including revenue, expenses, labor, business volumes, statistics, regulations, and assets
  • Adheres to all gaming, state, federal and local ordinances
  • Implements promotional policies and procedures directed by the Director of Marketing
  • Collaborates with the Director of Marketing to develop and implement innovative Player’s Club programs, promotions and property-wide entertainment
  • Assists the Director of Marketing with the development and implementation of the promotions and events annual budget
  • Works with all internal departments to maximize collaboration
  • Manages inter-departmental and internal communication and notification processes for all promotions and events activities
  • Administers the selection, training and scheduling of departmental staff, off-site help, temp employees and contract labor
  • Performs other duties as assigned
