Job Description

Panera Bread is a renowned bakery-cafe chain known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere where fresh, high-quality food is served daily. Founded with the mission to provide wholesome and delicious meals, Panera has grown to become a leader in the fast-casual dining industry, emphasizing fresh ingredients, clean menu options, and a customer-first approach. Panera prides itself on fostering a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust, creating an environment where associates are empowered to bring their best every day and where guests feel like they are part of something special. With over 2,000 locations across the United States and Canada, Panera is committed to being more than just a restaurant — it's a community hub where people come together to enjoy great food and company.

At Panera, leadership is celebrated as a key ingredient in delivering exceptional guest experiences and supporting team success. The Team Manager position is an integral part of the bakery-cafe's leadership team, responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, and team performance. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence a positive work culture, inspire and develop team members, and actively contribute to the sustained growth of the brand. The position includes competitive pay, eligibility for quarterly bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package that supports work-life balance and career development.

As a Team Manager, you will ensure that every guest leaves delighted with their experience by driving excellence in food preparation, safety standards, and service. You will build meaningful relationships with guests to encourage loyalty and foster a welcoming environment. The role involves actively managing and motivating team members through coaching, training, and celebrating their achievements, aimed at exceeding sales, speed, accuracy, and guest satisfaction goals. Additionally, the Team Manager participates in recruiting and selecting new team members, ensuring the growth and sustainability of an engaged workforce.

The Team Manager role requires strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment, with flexible hours including nights and weekends. ServSafe certification or the ability to achieve it is necessary to maintain food safety compliance. This position also demands physical endurance and effective communication skills in a lively, often noisy restaurant setting. At Panera, team management is not just about operational success; it’s about embodying the company’s guiding values of making people smile, learning and growing together, finding solutions and taking initiative, working as a team, celebrating success, and seeing the best in others. This role is perfect for professionals who want to grow their leadership skills while positively impacting both the team and guests every day.
