The Regional Safety Manager position at WSFP entails a critical leadership role within the Texas and New Mexico region. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and directing the company’s health and safety programs and policies across multiple office locations, including cities such as Albuquerque, Austin, El Paso, Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston. This role requires active involvement in planning, leading, and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal safety regulations, as well as adherence to WSFP’s stringent internal safety standards.

The Regional Safety Manager is expected to spend approximately 60% or more of their working time in the field, conducting job site and facility safety inspections, audits, and serving as an on-site safety coordinator for special projects when necessary. This person will work closely with the corporate safety director, area managers, and the parent company’s risk management department to communicate safety and risk data, conduct accident investigations, implement return-to-work programs, and support the company’s commitment to its STEPS initiatives including the Commitment to Zero and Driving Without Distractions.

To be successful, this role demands a proactive approach to preventing accidents, injuries, and claims, as well as inspiring and coaching employees toward safety excellence. The ability to develop and deliver safety training, anticipate hazards, implement hazard controls, and maintain confidentiality regarding injuries and claims are critical components of this position. The Regional Safety Manager will produce reports, maintain schedules for job site visits, participate actively in safety committees, and contribute to continuous improvement in the company’s safety culture.

This position offers a salary range of $70,000 to $90,000, depending on experience and geographic location. Frequent domestic travel by driving and flying within the assigned region is expected, making it essential for the candidate to be flexible and mobile. The Regional Safety Manager must be based out of a WSFP office in the Texas or New Mexico area to facilitate effective oversight and field presence.
