Job Description
Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is a leading sales and marketing agency in North America specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management, and marketing services. The company has a longstanding partnership with Costco, serving as the preferred in-house event marketing provider. CDS delivers top-tier person-to-person marketing services aimed at driving sales for customers and enhancing the shopping experience for Costco members. The firm caters to an extensive range of trade channels, including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. They bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers to provide consumers with access to high-quality products available in today's marketplace. CDS fosters a supportive work environment that emphasizes work-life balance, complete with a set Tuesday-Saturday work schedule and comprehensive full-time benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, and a 401(k) savings plan. Moreover, the company offers generous paid time off, helping employees maintain a healthy balance between personal and professional life.
The Event Manager role at CDS is a full-time position responsible for managing the recruitment, training, and supervision of in-store product demonstrators. This critical leadership role involves overseeing product preparation and presentation, ensuring food safety and sanitation, and delivering exceptional customer service to club members. The Event Manager acts as a liaison between warehouse managers, vendors, and demonstrators to facilitate clear communication and smooth operations. Participation in grand openings of new club locations is also a key aspect of the job. This position requires a highly detail-oriented individual with excellent leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and maintain high-performing teams in a fast-paced retail environment. In addition to managing staff, the Event Manager will monitor event performance metrics such as sales execution rates, labor hours, and operational costs, collaborating with the District Manager to optimize results and meet defined revenue and net income objectives. The candidate selected for this position must be adept at maintaining adherence to corporate policies and governance frameworks while driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Additional responsibilities include regular evaluation and coaching of demonstrations staff, as well as ensuring compliance with health standards such as NEHA Professional Food Handler Certification. This role also demands the physical ability to engage in moderate to strenuous activities including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in refrigerated or freezer environments, as well as the capacity to travel and drive as necessary. CDS values equal opportunity and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants, making it an inclusive workplace for professionals dedicated to delivering outstanding event management and product demonstration services.
