Job Description
Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Arlington, located in the vibrant Entertainment District on 1500 Nolan Ryan Expressway in Arlington, Texas, is part of the renowned Marriott International brand. Marriott International is a global leader in the hospitality industry, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and an outstanding guest experience. Courtyard by Marriott seeks to cater specifically to business travelers, offering thoughtfully designed amenities and services to support their needs. The hotel prides itself on its ability to blend comfort, convenience, and professionalism in a welcoming environment. Joining this establishment means becoming part of a prestigious network known for its diversity, inclusion, and dedication to career development.
The role available is a full-time, evening shift position within the Engineering and Facilities department at the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Arlington. This is a non-management role focused on general cleaning and preventive maintenance of guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas. The position plays a critical part in ensuring the hotel maintains its high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include performing planned preventive maintenance such as mattress rotation, inspection, and assembly of bed frames; vacuuming behind and under furniture; removing stains from carpets and upholstery; dusting and touch-up painting; and ensuring all room accessories and appliances are present and in perfect working order. The maintenance includes replacing lighting fixtures, inspecting cement grouting and caulking, and repairing minor damages such as loose toilet seats, light bulb changes, and patching wall holes.
Additionally, the role requires a thorough cleaning of all guest room surfaces, including bathtubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors. The maintenance technician must promptly report any serious maintenance issues, unusual findings, or safety hazards to management. Adherence to all company safety policies and procedures is mandatory, including participation in safety training and certifications to ensure a safe work environment. The team member must represent the company professionally by maintaining a clean uniform and personal appearance while respecting the company's confidential information and property.
Excellent guest interaction skills are essential, as this role involves welcoming guests in alignment with company standards and proactively addressing their service needs. The position encourages building positive working relationships with colleagues and supporting team goals, maintaining high-quality standards, and adhering to physical demands such as lifting or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and assisting with heavier objects. The role requires the ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods during the shift and to perform duties that may involve stretching, bending, twisting, or dragging.
Marriott International is committed to equal employment opportunities, fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where all associates feel welcomed, respected, and valued. By joining Courtyard, candidates become part of a global team empowered to deliver exceptional hospitality experiences and grow professionally. The company embraces the rich blend of cultures, talents, and experiences that its associates bring, ensuring no discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about providing excellent guest experiences, eager to learn, and thrive in a dynamic yet supportive team atmosphere while having fun and achieving personal and professional growth.
