Salary: $40,000–$50,000 a year

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday–Friday, with the possibility of overtime beyond 40 hours per week

Medical Biller Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy in patient data entry for billing purposes
• Prepare and submit claims for medical procedures and services to insurance companies
• Contribute to the overall financial health of the healthcare institution by facilitating prompt and accurate billing processes

Medical Biller Experience Requirements & Skills

• Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role within the healthcare industry
• Familiarity with medical billing procedures, codes and regulations
• Proficiency in using medical billing software and other relevant administrative systems
• Strong attention to detail and precision in data entry
• Excellent organizational skills to manage billing processes efficiently
• Effective communication skills to interact with patients, insurance providers and internal stakeholders
• Ability to develop and negotiate reasonable payment plans with patients
• Analytical skills for troubleshooting and resolving billing discrepancies
• Knowledge of budgetary control and financial planning within a healthcare context
• Time management skills to meet deadlines for claim submissions and payment collections

Medical Biller Education & Qualification Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification
• Associate’s degree or vocational training in medical billing or a related field
