Bookkeeper Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records for the company
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions
  • Perform daily financial tasks, including general ledger entries and reconciliations
  • Record and track invoices, payments and adjustments to ensure accuracy
  • Establish and maintain a systematic filing system for financial documents
  • Generate monthly financial reports to provide insights into the company’s financial health
  • Assist in basic HR duties, such as new hire documents, compliance and insurance filings
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial standards and regulations
  • Verify the accuracy of accounting records and resolve discrepancies
  • Provide financial information and support to other departments
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for review by management

Bookkeeper Experience Requirements & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Familiarity with relevant financial software and tools
  • Experience in accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and regulations
  • Previous involvement in financial reporting and reconciliation
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and precision in data entry
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of relevant financial laws and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • High level of integrity and ethical behavior
  • Familiarity with basic HR duties is a plus

Bookkeeper Education & Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred
  • Specific certifications, such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or similar may are a plus
