Salary: $35,000–$45,000/year

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday–Friday, with the possibility of overtime beyond 40 hours per week

Custodian Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct daily cleaning and sanitization of surfaces within the facility
• Manage waste disposal, including emptying trash bins and sorting recyclables
• Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of restrooms, including regular cleaning and restocking of supplies
• Perform floor maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, to maintain cleanliness standards
• Undertake minor maintenance work such as changing light bulbs and fixing minor plumbing problems
• Monitor and maintain the overall functionality of equipment within the facility
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules and address specific cleaning requirements
• Manage and replenish cleaning supplies, ensuring they are well-stocked and readily available
• Conduct routine inspections to identify cleaning and maintenance needs
• Work towards creating a safe, organized and welcoming environment for occupants within the facility

Custodian Experience Requirements & Skills

• Previous experience in custodial or related roles is preferred
• Familiarity with cleaning procedures, equipment and materials
• Ability to address minor repairs
• Strong attention to detail in cleaning and maintaining facilities
• Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and other departments
• Physical stamina and strength to handle various cleaning tasks
• Familiarity with safety protocols and the ability to follow them
• Flexibility in adapting to different cleaning requirements and schedules
• Basic organizational skills for managing cleaning supplies and equipment

Custodian Education & Qualification Requirements

• Vocational training or certification in custodial services, building maintenance or a related field is preferred
